I know they don't have the UFC license, but these fighters aren't that bad. If they make the career mode really great - as well as the fighter mechanics - it might not even matter! Check out the roster.

There are some good names in there. I think Randy Couture's name is interesting; he wasn't in UFC 2009 and I don't think he's in 2010, yet he's now very active in the UFC again. Plus, Dana White said that any UFC fighter that signs with EA is going to get booted out of his organization.
And I imagine that Couture told him where he could shove that empty threat. It might mean more fighters go to EA MMA too.
Also, I plan on beating the everliving shit out of Mayhem Miller in the game just for that horrible, super-annoying Bully Beatdown show. |

Nice! That's what I like to see.
I love the UFC, but I don't think for a second that EA is guaranteed to make a worse game than UFC 2009. I've met some of the UFC dev team, at least the producers and gameplay designers that are here in the US, and they're great guys. But their game has holes in it and until they can show the gaming world that UFC 2010 has more than just Kimbo in it, I'm looking for EA to take the Fight Night R4 engine (which was fantastic, even if the gameplay in that didn't hold up under scrutiny) and make something better.
Competition is always a plus, and hopefully it'll make both dev teams work really hard to make the better game. |

I agree Finger. I think that EA will bring their A game - causing the UFC dev team to up the ante.
I don't see why Dana would make a statement like that. From a purely business standpoint, it would benefit him to have his license on multiple games. Anyway, Randy is too much of a legend to care. I can't wait to play it.
What's wrong with Bully Beatdown?

Ha. The fat guy couldn't pick Trig up after the fight.
Miller has a lot of wins, but I've only seen video of his losses. Did you see his match against GSP? It was old GSP, before his 1st match with Hughes. Also, Jake Shields beat Miller easily in their fight for the Strikeforce belt Cung Le abandoned. Seems like Miller needs some boxing skills.

Dana White loves having beefs, it seems, and he really dislikes EA. It's why he shopped UFC to THQ.

The "bullies" on that show are confirmed to be actors/stuntmen, both by Miller and by sightings on other shows as stuntmen. The whole thing is fake, made up bullshit. I don't care if it's almost entertaining, lying to my face over the course of the whole show is not something I'll just take. I'll spend my time watching older UFC/WEC/Strikeforce/Dream fights if I really need to see more MMA. |

I think the origin of his dislike from EA comes from the fact that EA rejected the UFC early on. Dana approached them when the UFC was very young. EA turned him down. Know that the UFC is the "ish", EA wants a piece.
I didn't know the bullies were fake. That really changes my opinion of the show. Thanks for sharing.
